Snow is just the most magical thing to me. It has the ability to transport you. To a place full of wonder and beauty in every direction. And wow, does Reno look Heavenly right now. It has been snowing for a little over week now and the white flakes that have graced our presence have turned everything into a wonderland. And I am absolutely in love and here’s why...
It’s Beautiful!
There's just something about some pure, white snow covering everything that makes the world seem like a dream. It has the ability to turn ugly, barren trees into works of absolute art. It creates a soft and cozy blanket over the mountains. Turning them into a playground for all ages! And let’s face it, those tiny and unique snowflakes falling from the sky are something that I could just stare at for hours on end. Because everything just looks so damn beautiful with a layer of freshly fallen snow.
Everything Gets Calmer
Maybe it’s just me, and maybe I’m crazy, but somehow as soon as the snow begins to stick, it seems as though the whole world becomes just a little bit quieter. It brings along a sense of peace and calmness that falls in a hush over everything and everyone. Creating a stillness on the ground like some untouched sacred world.
Play Time
Snow somehow brings out the kids in all of us - whether we like it or not. As a kid, I would spend hours outside building snowmen, snow forts, dogging tunnels, and making snow angels. Well let’s be honest, I still could spend hours outside doing it to this day. And if probably even have more fun than my own kids.
Perfect Excuse to Stay Inside
There is absolutely nothing like throwing on some sweats and fuzzy socks, throwing on a blanket, and drinking a hot cup of coffee to watch the snow fall from the living room while reading a nice book. I swear, I’ll never outgrow the pure excitement of looking out my window to see the gleaming snow. Oh and don’t forget the perfect opportunity that it offers for cuddling up with the ones you love! *Pictures of the snow were all taken wonderful by my brother, David Hendrix.
