This is my third month setting monthly goals. And I have to say that it will definitely be a continuous thing. Because setting goals has helped me remain focused, hold me accountable, and inspire me for what will come for the next month.
Review of January Goals
- Get AnnaLynne back to sleeping through the night EVERY night. This one went pretty dang perfect. After all of the craziness that went along with the holiday season, her schedule got thrown off quite a bit. She was going to bed late, waking up to feed, and just being a lot more fussy when she got tired. Something had to give. So this last month I spent a week to focus on re-sleep training her. And she did great! We are back to bed at 8:30 pm, sleeping through the night, and staying up on our daily schedule.
- Organize AnnaLynne’s old clothes. Ehh. The organizing went well, I guess, but I didn't fully follow through with what I wanted to do with it afterwards. I went through all of the clothes, throwing out the stained, folding it all, and storing it in bins by sizes, but I wanted to also get them out of the house. But I think a major part in all of this is not the laziness, but rather that this is my last baby. And the last bit of clothes I'll have to give away. I want to keep it all!
- Read 5 new books. Yes, and more! Before this month I really fell behind on my reading and it made me really sad. But this month I dedicated my self-care time to my books. And now I am even going to be starting Sunday book reviews for my weekly readings!
February Goals
- Sleep more. Last month I had a pretty shitty sleeping schedule. Between the kids being sick for two out of the four weeks and trying to spend as much time as I can with my husband, my sleeping took a huge back burner. So this month I want to make more of an effort to sleeping 7 hours at least 4 days a week. - Add my exercising into my morning routine. I've been adding in workouts throughout the day, doing it more in 15-minute intervals. But this month I want to cut out part of my morning routine to spend a little time on doing my workouts start to finish.
- Read another 5 books. This is a big part of my sanity. It’s my place to escape to. And the biggest part of my morning routine. I felt so good after last month when I accomplished making reading a priority in my life and i want to continue that. - Do at least 5 Valentine’s Day themed activities. My husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day as a holiday together but I want to make the kids daily activities scheduled with a theme around it anyways. Because isn’t that what February is all about? - Morning devotion with the kids. I very recently got back into discovering my faith. I mean, I’m still not too religious, and don’t believe in everything, and probably still won’t be attending church regularly. But I do love my bible and some of the values instilled in it. And I want to include my kids in discovering all of it with me. So every morning during breakfast I want to read a daily devotion or bible story.
