I Pray for You, My Children

Dear Christopher and AnnaLynne,

I prayed for you. Before you were born. For your arrival. Before meals and at bedtime. But also alone.

You guys have made me a mama. You are the ones who have taught me what it feels like to have your heart run around outside of your body. Something that has filled with me with so much love and adoration, but also fear. Fear that I won't do well enough raising you.

So I pray for you, my children.

I pray for your life. That you may grow to one day find your own faith in ways deeper than I know of my own.

I pray that you never lose your spirit. Having so much strength with a soft heart. Blessed with compassion and kindness. Not fearing whatever the world may bring your way, but instead embracing it to bring about happiness to yourself and the world.

I pray that you will be like your father. Strong, brave, courageous, and fearless. But also wise. Enough to know what you want for your life at such an early age and led to do something about it.

I pray that you find the perfect partners. People who will encourage you, will push you to be better every day, will lift you up when you are down, and will love you unconditionally. And that you will do the same for them.

I pray that you will become a man and woman of integrity, truth, perseverance, love, and grace.

And I pray that you never forget that you are loved - by me, your dad, your family, your friends, and mostly, by our Savior.

What's one thing that you pray for your children?
