Why I Love Blogging

When I clicked the publish button on my website for the first time, I had a TON of worry and anxiety exploding out of me. About what others might think, if I would be able to relate with my audience, shoot - if there would be an audience at all, and if I would be able to find the best words to properly explain what I had to say. Granted, before I started I didn't know that it would quickly develop into something more profound and life-changing.

I feel like these days, it is so easy to point out the doubts, frustrations, and failures that we experience in life. And forget to TRULY acknowledge the things that make us the happiest - the things that we love the most, the things that bring us positivity, and the things that put a smile on our faces when we're struggling the most.

Before I started this whole journey, I always wondered how people dedicated hours of their days to just creating content and what made blogging such a popular hobby to the point where people were making real careers out of it. Well, in just three and a half short months, I can say, I get it. I understand why so many people fall in love with blogging through all of the positive aspects that come along with it, because I have fallen in love too.

The Creativity

Blogging has allowed me to express my love for creativity. I love being able to come up with new content ideas for all my posts, transforming blank pages into content splashed with words and pictures. I get to put out topics that are personal, interesting, and unique to ME. I am completely in control of everything having to do with my blog - I get to be my own boss, marketer, sales department, and author. I'm not restricted at all to the amount that I want to create, how to talk about what I want, or how creative that I can get. I can decide exactly what I choose to put out there every day. It is just so flexible. I can do it as my kids nap, in 10-minute intervals, around the house, or anywhere else for that matter. All I need is paper, a pen, and a computer to get the job done. Sometimes, I even find myself getting too creative - getting carried away to the point of ending a post with 6,000 words (like I'll probably do here). But I think that's all part of the fun. Right?

Developing Skills

Before putting my blogging out into the world, I didn't know how much was entangled in it. Because blogging is SO much more than just writing. It entails much more other roles and skill sets.

I have learned so much about current technology and marketing techniques as I've had to create a website, develop a social media standing, communicate with other bloggers or my audience, and produce a level of photography goodness.

As a person who has always had a love for writing, I feel like I always have to put a pen to paper at least five times a week. And blogging has been the perfect motivator for that. Allowing me to express myself and improve upon my writing skills. I sometimes look back at my first posts and cringe with chills running up my back at all of the mistakes that I've made. But I take it all as lessons on how far my writing has already come and where it is yet to go.

I've also started to get more creative with activities with my kids, advance my cooking skills, and learn a lot more on living a healthier life physically and emotionally.

The Community

If you've never seen the blogging community, then you are missing out. I've always been such an introvert who stayed in her own little bubble. But when I started to follow other bloggers and interact on their posts, I was hit with an overwhelming love that sprung up almost immediately from these people. People who share the same goals in blogging adventures and aren't scared to promote, encourage, and critique each other. And dare I say, have even become amazing friends along the way. I am so incredibly grateful to finally be part of a group and to have all of these bloggers who encourage, support, and motivate one another.

Helping Others

There's no doubt that I've fallen on my ass PLENTY of times, and as a SAHM, I first started my blog as a place to vent. True story. I was feeling stuck in a mommy rut and needed a place to just get out everything that I was going through o a day-to-day basis that didn't involve just expressing it to my kids and husband.

So, in creating this blog, my main goal is to use all of my failures and experiences to the benefit of others. To use this opportunity to help shed light on all of my problems and in turn possibly pull someone else up along with me. If it wasn't for blogging, I wouldn't be able to reach as many people and have a platform that I never could've dreamt of, and I'm more than appreciative for that. Even if it only helps one person.

Explore Passions

Writing my blog allows me to further merge my love for writing with everything that I am passionate about. From having a happy and healthy marriage, to dealing with pregnancy and childbirth, to parenting babies and toddlers, and to every hobby and life happening in between. It lets me have the perfect platform to express it all. It's just so incredible and rewarding to have a hobby/job that merges together all of my greatest passions.

Now it's your turn. If you're a blogger, what do you love about it? And if you're not, what makes a hobby that you love so special to you?
