One side that I love so very much is cornbread! Something sweet, carb loaded, and goes with pretty much everything! So here is my favorite homemade cornbread recipe.
Ingredients:
1 Cup of Cornmeal
1 1/2 Cups of Flour
1 1/2 Tsp of Salt
1/2 Tsp of Baking Soda
1 Cup of Buttermilk
1/2 Cup of Heavy Cream
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup of Honey
1/2 Cup of Sugar
1/2 Cup of Melted Butter
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, salt, and baking soda.
In another bowl, mix together the buttermilk, heavy cream, eggs, honey, sugar, and butter.
Slowly mix the dry ingredients from the first step into the second step.
Then either pour the batter into a greaser 8 x 11 pan or into some muffin tins.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Finish it off with brushed on melted butter.
